Structural Engineer, Senior

Job summary

You will be working in the design & engineering department, responsible for performing engineering and design calculations, layouts and drawings, and 3D modelling in various design technologies, in accordance with the normal design flow, with relevant contractual obligations, and the requirements.

You will be required to apply extensive structural design principles, learning, and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of all applicable design tools, software, regulatory and classification rules and requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Applying typical or specific knowledge and engineering principles and practices
  • Develop 3D models based on P&ID schemes and diagrams
  • Develop detail and production drawings
  • Applying only controlled design or engineering tools and methods (calculation spreadsheets, etc) for the execution of the assigned project activity;
  • Checking / reviewing own work before submitting any deliverable for internal checking process.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with demonstrated expertise in Maritime or Oil&Gas industry;
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an ISO 9001: 2015 registered engineering design office;
  • Minimum 5 years’ of experience with FEA software (FEMAP. SESAM Genie, Nauticus Hull, Mars, Veristar);
  • Fully conversant and capable with Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced user);
  • Good use of English language, knowledge of advanced ship building and design terminology (Romanian and English).
  • Master’s degree in a related field of activity is an advantage
