PROJECT MANAGER ENGINEERING SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Job summary:
The Project manager oversees the company’s effort in acquiring, implementing, and maintaining an adequate engineering and technology set in place and in use to ensure effective and competitive project design and execution processes in all company projects, acting as a project engineering manager for the company’s projects.
His/her assignment will be to provide senior and middle management support in understanding how the company’s current engineering technology can be used most efficiently to allow the company to win in the competition with its clients in respect of time to produce deliverables, accuracy, consistency, and quality of deliverables, and best engineering practices embedded with the engineering systems, thus in terms of both quality and productivity.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates, supervises the execution, or performs the scope breakdown at various levels and activity definition.
- Controls scope changes irrespective of whether these are of external or internal cause
- Keeps an updated change register documenting the nature of change, the impact across the project on schedule, budget, resources, stakeholders, existent agreements, and the root cause for the change.
- Identify all project-related requirements (including classification bodies, etc) and input data, and supervise that the team obtains them in due time and at the quality required.
- Review, outline, and incorporate technical requirements into the design strategy, as and if required.
- In cooperation with DMs and PMs, creates the most efficient practice of utilization of engineering system and its resources including engineering team, and documents for the use of Company departments, and projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering, with preferably a master’s degree in business administration.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience within a shipyard, a ship design company, or a heavy industrial manufacturing company.
- A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in coordination of people teams in international environment shipbuilding/design projects.
- Fluency in English, both in speaking and writing.
- Good communicator and motivator.
- Good time management skills.
